Thanksgiving Dinner in 3 minutes

I hope you each had a great Thanksgiving day. We had a great time eating and visiting. Wow, our tummies are full! We even got to play "Swat the Animal" and "Mafia." This movie is of us last year. Thanks John and Mike for putting this together. I love it!. Surprisingly, it looks pretty much identical to what happened this year. Enjoy : )

Dancin' Elves

I thought this was so funny, I had to share! I think Brent has the nicest legs of the bunch though. Can you tell that I didn't have to do much of the cooking on Thanksgiving?

Again

Wicked is here. Tiffany and I tried to go and win the lottery (cheap seat drawing they do the day of the performance) and see the it before it goes away. Sadly, we didn't win...which was actually good that I did not win because I forgot ID. So they would not have given me the tickets anyway. That would have been to sad for words. So what are a couple of fun girls to do on a kidless night? You guessed it.... Different theater...different night....different friend. LOVED it the second time. I think I was able to let go of the book this time. I knew what to expect. I found myself looking forward to certain scenes such as the Port Angeles rescue and of course the baseball scene. Things seemed less rushed. I really loved the Alice character, Charlie and Bella were great. Edward was still hot...when is the next movie coming out? (I promise I will stop writing about Twilight now)

TWILIGHT

I missed the Batman opening...and I missed "that one" movie opening that will remain nameless but you know which one I am talking about. I was NOT going to miss this one. TWILIGHT. Yes we were really some of the oldest in the crowd..yes the giggles throughout the movie were pretty young but it was so much fun to be there! The movie was intense, romantic and fun...I am so looking forward to owning this movie, and going to the next movie.
(remembering that it was just a fun movie made it better) I am actually wanting to go to this one again. I was unsure about Edward...but he was great. The only character that I still have trouble with is Charlie the dad. He was too young in the movie (or am I to old?)
I will admit to wanting a little more interaction between the Cullen family and Bella...but there is time for that in the NEXT movie. Lauren...and everyone else..drop what you are doing and go to the movie! I am off to reread the books.
Question: How many girls can you fit into a Miata? Stuffing ourselves into the Miata after the movie brought back so many memories from High School and the Volkswagon. Hilarious. Let's do it again soon.

Grandpa Dan and Grandma Joanne

Erik's dad and Joanne were able to make their way out to visit us this past weekend. We love to have family (and friends) come and visit. It is fun to get to visit and do stuff together.
Unfortunately, I had to work pretty much the whole time they were here. It was my Y weekend and I was scheduled at Target. I missed out on a lot. They did come and see me in my khaki and red at Target and they got to go swimming at the Y.

I put Erik in charge of pictures of their trip. I know that they had many movie nights and hit Famous Dave's for dinner. From the pictures it looks like they played with trains too.

The snow and house update

It snowed last night. I will say that all the Target cart people were complaining..which in their case I totally understand. It stinks to be a cart person this time of year. Right now, I am excited about the snow. I decided to take some pictures of our walk to the bus stop. This is the view across the street. That's the path to the park. This is the "forest" across the street. This snow is not going to last..but it is fun to enjoy.
ALSO:
We put new carpet in when we moved into this place. We made a big mistake. We chose cheap really light carpet for our main living area. I remember thinking...we will just be REALLY careful with this carpet. We will be able to keep it clean and make it last (completely change how we live in a house). Then came one more child, a neighborhood, and the dog. Needless to say..our carpet has seen better days. Unfortunately, hard wood floors are not in our near future. But after much searching...
I am excited to announce that our carpet yuckiness has been successfully covered up. This new area carpet has brought in some new colors for us and it inspired a living room flip of the furniture. Fun times! Hopefully this band-aide will last a few years. Because we are going to be super careful to keep this carpet clean and make it last. wink wink : )

One afternoon

One afternoon I was enjoying a nice peaceful home when I decided to check on the kids. I knew they were playing outside enjoying the nice weather. I knew some neighbor kids were over. I just didn't expect to find this...Andrew was running around the back yard in only his underwear.
He's not phased, the other kids are not phased. It has even been in the 70s lately. Ok.. no harm done. (He did get some clothes on) Then, this morning I was waiting at the bus stop. Here comes Andrew running down the street. Again in only his underwear. He just wanted to see what was going on...Like my neighbor said, "at least he has underwear on." I would worry, but it is going to get cold sooner or later right?

Happy Halloween!

Weather on Halloween can be tricky. Some years it is already super cold. In fact in 1991 we got 28 inches of snow over three days in the famous Halloween blizzard.

But, this year was beautiful. We had a great time.
We had a Ninja, a vampire...I called her Bella...and Spiderman.

One tradition is going to the school Halloween parade. They play fun music and we get to see all the costumes. This is Ryan and his friend Cameron.
Here is Emily marching by..

They are getting ready to go out trick or treating
Bye Spider Man

This picture just freaks me out...no more princesses and fairies for her. I don't think this is Bella.
