The snow and house update

It snowed last night. I will say that all the Target cart people were complaining..which in their case I totally understand. It stinks to be a cart person this time of year. Right now, I am excited about the snow. I decided to take some pictures of our walk to the bus stop. This is the view across the street. That's the path to the park. This is the "forest" across the street. This snow is not going to last..but it is fun to enjoy.
ALSO:
We put new carpet in when we moved into this place. We made a big mistake. We chose cheap really light carpet for our main living area. I remember thinking...we will just be REALLY careful with this carpet. We will be able to keep it clean and make it last (completely change how we live in a house). Then came one more child, a neighborhood, and the dog. Needless to say..our carpet has seen better days. Unfortunately, hard wood floors are not in our near future. But after much searching...
I am excited to announce that our carpet yuckiness has been successfully covered up. This new area carpet has brought in some new colors for us and it inspired a living room flip of the furniture. Fun times! Hopefully this band-aide will last a few years. Because we are going to be super careful to keep this carpet clean and make it last. wink wink : )

I feel your pain - our whole house needs new carpet and there are not enough area rugs in the world to cover it up! Someday.

Yes, just like in college when you got those cute plaid slippers for Christmas and you promised your mom they would NOT go out in the snow... I mean, those cute slippers that you totally took care of so they wouldn't get ruined *wink wink* :)

ps... when I saw the first commenter's name I thought it said "the minnesota predators"... I'm glad that's not the case. :)

I (briefly) wondered about the predators, also. Of course, the word "predator" now reminds me almost exclusively of those Dateline shows. Glad to know the Preators are lovely friends of yours.

I can't really explain it, but looking at your house, and the Minnesota snow, and reading your posts - it all feels very familiar somehow. And I always come away wishing I could be up there with you. You and Erik are good people. I sure miss and love you.

p.s. sorry for the random outburst of emotion. Your posts do that to me sometimes... in a good way :)

Aunt Cathy! First of all I want to say beautiful pictures of the snow! I wish we got something other than rain here...and second I am reading the best book. AND its not long either so you wont have to be super anti-social when you get to the climax :]

So its called "The Five People You Meet In Heaven". But I haven't finished it so if the ending sucks I'm sorry :] but all my friends say its awesome. So go check it out I really like it so far :]

Loved the post - plans in reality don't often seem to coincide for me. I especially loved reminiscing with Cynthia about those lovely plaid slippers. Did you actually go to class in them? I couldn't remember.
