The Fourth-out and about sort of

I did it! A few days ago, I had the thought, "wow, we have not been sick for a LONG time! Good for us." I should know that just thinking that thought is like a curse. Yesterday morning we took everyone's temperature and some of us had fevers...bummer. That meant no parade and fun times with friends. I kind of planted myself on the couch. (I don't get a fever very often..I had to make good use of it)

Emily, the girl who never wants to miss anything, still felt good enough to ride her bike in the Apple Valley parade. (She is the kind of kid that would never admit to a fever because I would make her stay home. Crazy) So I peeled myself off the couch. Ry and I went to the parade. (Erik stayed home with Andrew because he was to sick to sit in the heat) Ryan was motivated by the candy that he could catch. I didn't want to miss my girl in the parade.
I have to say we had a really good time. This was the first time I have been to the Apple Valley Parade. This picture is in honor of all the Scots that I know and love. That tall patriotic man kind of freaked me out..but Ry wasn't fooled. Ry assured me he wasn't that tall. Thanks for clarifying. I was in a feverish state. Who knows what I was thinking. After the parade I found my spot on the couch again. I slept and I watched Hallmark movie channel Christmas movies. Just as Meet the Clauses was about to start, we decided to go and watch the fireworks. So I peeled myself off the couch again. About 9:30, we left for Eastview fields.
We usually watch the fireworks with my parents on their side of town. We were clueless when it came to Apple Valley fireworks. Luckily, our neighbors told us the best place to park to avoid the crowds. It was perfect. The fireworks were right over us. I don't think I have ever been so close fireworks.
Once we got home we did some of our own fireworks. Sparklers and things that shoot up into the air. For being a sick fourth of July, it was really wonderful. I hope you all had great days too!

Cute picture of your three kiddies watching the fireworks...sounds like you guys had a great 4th. Nothing like a good parade on the 4th!

I love the picture of your daughter with her sweatshirt hood up. That is completely unimaginable to me. It's usually still over 100* here when we see fireworks (at 10:00 p.m.) Looks like you had fun -- sorry you were sick.
